Cranberry So Journ

Great to see another cranberry harvest. This year we went to the A.D. Makepeace bogs in Tihonet (Wareham), Massachusetts.
This is the conveyer belt that works off the wet-vac system from the bog.

The belt sends off loads them to a 40 ft dup truck of sorts, and then off to the cranberry processing plant.

We saw two 40 ft beds loaded in about 45 minutes this day. Was quite the process.

God provided a very good crop this year - so cranberries for everyone this holiday season!

Kids and forts

So what is it about kids and forts? The two never cease to amaze me. Ever since I was young, forts were it! This one is Fort Preble in South Portland, ME. It boasts the best granite money could buy in the 1800's. Maybe before!

Here we get the thumbs up from a relative of the Commodore, for whose name it stands.

Cannot imagine the recoil of the cannons here when firing on distant ships.

A real lesson in the ingenuity and and determination of the Early Americans.

Anyhow. Forts are still cool after all these years.
